This is our first issuance of the Series A Preferred Stock, and we have no other preferred stock outstanding. The Series A Preferred Stock will rank senior to our common stock, $0.01 par value per share, which we refer to in this prospectus supplement as our common stock, and any other class or series of our subsequently issued capital stock expressly designated as ranking junior to the Series A Preferred Stock. The Series A Preferred Stock will rank junior in right of payment to our existing and future debt obligations, including any subordinated debt, and liabilities.
Air Lease is an aircraft leasing company that is engaged in purchasing commercial jet transport aircraft directly from aircraft manufacturers, such as The Boeing Company and Airbus S.A.S., and leasing those aircraft to airlines. In addition to its leasing activities, Co. sells aircraft from its fleet to third parties, including other leasing companies, financial services companies, airlines and other investors. Co. also provides fleet management services to investors and owners of aircraft portfolios. Co. provides aircraft to airline customers in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, U.S. and Canada, the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, and Central America, South America and Mexico.
